Emmy-winning TV personality Carson Kressley (Queer Eye for the Straight Guy) will join the cast of off-Broadway’s NEWSical the Musical for a special four-week engagement. Kressley will appear beginning February 6 and continue in the show through March 3. NEWSIcal plays off-Broadway at Theatre Row’s Kirk Theatre.
NEWSical The Musical is the forever changing, completely un-sanitized musical mockery of all the news that’s fit to spoof. From the fiscal cliff crisis to the Pope opening a Twitter account to Honey Boo Boo, NEWSical sets all of today’s biggest pop culture headlines to song.
As the fashion expert of Queer Eye’s Fab Five, Kressley changed the landscape of the LGBT presence on television. He went on to host the TV shows like How to Look Good Naked, Carson Nation and True Beauty, and appeared on Dancing with the Stars and Big Brother Australia. In addition to his TV credits, Kressley has authored the books Off the Cuff, You’re Different and That’s Super and Queer Eye for the Straight Guy: The Fab Five's Guide to Looking Better, Cooking Better, Dressing Better, Behaving Better and Living Better.
Kressley is the latest in a growing roster of celebrity guests at NEWSical. Recent stars to join the cast include gossip guru Perez Hilton, Broadway’s original Annie, Andrea McArdle, and most recently, Saturday Night Live funny lady Cheri Oteri.
In addition to Kressley, the cast of NEWSical features Christine Pedi, Michael West, Tommy Walker, Susan Mosher, Emily McNamara and Ryan Knowles.
