Emmy winner Leslie Jordan is set to return to the West End with his new solo show Fruit Fly, the follow up to his successful 2011 one-man show, My Trip Down The Pink Carpet. Fruit Fly will play March 12 through 16 at the Leicester Square Theatre in London. Jordan will also bring his show to The Lowry on March 18.
Directed by David Galligan, who also helmed Pink Carpet, Fruit Fly outlines the early years of Jordan's life, growing up with his mother, father, twin sisters and grandmother in Chattanooga, Tennessee. The show focuses on Jordan's puberty years and how he segued into doing drag for the first time at 17-years-old. The solo show features funny stories, outrageous revelations and revealing family photos about Leslie's own experience growing up a "cissy boy" in the Deep South and how his mother, Miss Peggy Sue, continues to inspire him today.
Jordan won an Emmy for his role as Beverley Leslie, the nemesis of Karen Walker, on Will & Grace. His other TV and film credits include Ally McBeal, Boston Legal, Monk, Murphy Brown and The Help.
