Robin de Jesus, Mary Testa, Elizabeth Stanley and more will join Seth Rudetsky at The Concert, an event that will celebrate the Directory of Contemporary Theatre Writers. The evening will feature a slew of Broadway stars singing selections written by the Directory’s writers. The one-night-only concert, directed by Laura Josepher, will take place at off-Broadway’s Second Stage Theatre on January 21.
The evening will feature performances by Nick Blaemire (Godspell), Darius de Haas (Hair), Jason Gotay (Bring It On), Andrew Samonsky (Scandalous), Bryce Ryness (Hair), Kenita Miller (Xanadu), Harry Bouvy (Silence! The Musical), Jeff Blumenkrantz (Into the Woods), Kristine Reese (Wicked), Randy Redd (Million Dollar Quartet), Mamie Parris (9 to 5), Sheri Sanders (Urinetown), Morgan Billings (Little Women), Sam Tedaldi (The Lovely Bones) and Lucas Steele (The Kid).
The performers will sing songs by composers including Brad Alexander, Adam Mathias, Will Aronson, Bill Nelson, Jeff Blumenkrantz, John Bucchino, Patrick Cook, Frederick Freyer, Anna Dagmar, David Gaines, Charlie Sohne, Jenny Giering, Tom Gualtieri, David Sisco, Michael Kooman, Christopher Dimond, Daniel Maté, Chris Miller, Nathan Tysen, Peter Mills, Adam Overett, Rachel Peters, Nadav Wiesel, Sam Willmott, Michael Wartofsky and Barry Wyner.
A portion of the evening’s proceeds will go to the Dramatists Guild Fund, the public charity arm of the Dramatists Guild of America. The funds will support DGF’s mission to aid and nurture writers for the theater. Matt Castle will serve as musical director for the concert.
