PBS will air concerts from Kristin Chenoweth, Josh Groban and more as part of its Live From Lincoln Center series. As previously announced five-time Tony winner Audra McDonald will serve as the series' host.
The series will kick off with the American Songbook’s celebration of Tony-winning songwriting team John Kander and Fred Ebb. The event, titled Ring Them Bells! Rob Fisher Celebrates Kander & Ebb, will honor the Cabaret, Chicago and Kiss of the Spider Woman team with performances by Joel Grey, Marin Mazzie, Jason Danieley and Chita Rivera. Rob Fisher will conduct the concert, which will air on February 15.
Live From Lincoln Center will continue with Emmy and Tony winner Kristin Chenoweth's concert The Dames of Broadway…All of ‘Em!!! on March 24. Grammy nominee Josh Groban (Chess) will then perform a concert of his favorite hits on April 12. Opera singer Stephanie Blythe will sing Kate Smith songs for American Songbook’s concert Stephanie Blythe: We’ll Meet Again–The Songs of Kate Smith on April 19.
The New York Philharmonic's previously announced Carousel concert, starring Kelli O’Hara and Nathan Gunn, will air on April 26. The series will close with McDonald’s own gala concert on May 24.
The Live From Lincoln Center series has won 13 Emmy Awards over its 37 seasons.
