Bare star Missi Pyle will take a break from patroling the halls of St. Cecilia's to make her solo show debut at Joe’s Pub on February 16.
Pyle's show, quite appropriately titled Sexy as Hell, will combine Pyle’s own original music (described as “hilarious, quirky, ornery and sometimes heartfelt”) with songs from her bands The Nice Ladies, The Tumbleweeds and Smith and Pyle. A press release promises that the show will be “an evening of laughter, tears and booze, mixed with stories of love and loss, and an intimate look at Missi’s most recent slutty summer.”
The concert will also feature guest appearances from Dave Hill, Jenna Price and cast members from Bare (in which Pyle stars as a break-all-the-rules nun).
Pyle made her Broadway debut in 2008 in Boeing-Boeing. Her many film and TV credits include The Artist, Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story, Galaxy Quest, Big Fish and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. She’ll also appear on an upcoming episode of Josh Gad’s 1600 Penn.
