Faded Feathers in Their Hair! Five Stars Who Could Fill In for Ailing Barry Manilow on Broadway

What a bummer! The one and only Barry Manilow has had to cancel performances of his new Broadway gig as he battles a bout of bronchitis. As we pondered how to spend our suddenly free evening, we started imagining who could fill in for the music man if his illness delays future performances of Manilow on Broadway. (We hope not, Barry! We can't smile without you!) A quick trip to YouTube revealed five famous folks who have already taken on one of Manilow's most iconic numbers. There are so many, of course!  But here's a hint: Her name was Lola.

Liza Minnelli
This is a no brainer. She's a Tony winner, a Manilow contemporary and knows exactly how to wear a dress cut down to there. (See her below on The Muppet Show.) Done and done.


John Barrowman
Tall, dark, handsome and British. He's nothing like Barry, but he's a Broadway vet with a smooth voice and could so make the St. James Theatre the hottest spot north of Havana.

Though legendary TV mogul Griffin is no longer with us, Chita is not only alive, the birthday girl is kicking (eight times a week in The Mystery of Edwin Drood). And who would make a better showgirl than La Chita?!
