Looks like all that gym time Taye Diggs has been putting in paid off: The Broadway and TV favorite chased down and detained a burglar who broke into the actor's L.A. home on January 27, according to E! Online.
Hours after Diggs presented at the Screen Actors Guild Awards, the Private Practice star returned home to find 20-year-old Hassan Juma inside his house. Diggs chased down the suspect and held him until police arrived. Juma was later charged with felony burglary. No word yet on the whereabouts of Diggs’ wife, Tony winner Idina Menzel, and their son, Walker, at the time of the robbery.
Diggs made his Broadway debut in the Tony-winning revival of Carousel before originating the role of Benny in the Tony-winning musical Rent. He appeared in three musicals with Menzel: Rent, The Wild Party and Wicked. Diggs' other credits include How Stella Got Her Groove Back, Chicago, The Wood, The Best Man, Ally McBeal, Will & Grace, Private Practice and the film adaptation of Rent.
Way to go, Taye!
