The New York Pops orchestra will welcome a host of Broadway stars—including Montego Glover, Ashley Brown, Marin Mazzie and Jason Danieley—into the 31st season of the company’s Carnegie Hall series, led by music director Steven Reineke. The season will feature five concerts in total, kicking off on October 4, 2013.
Among the seasonal features are An Evening with Chris Botti, a tribute to jazz standards; Sing, Sing, Swing, a big band concert starring Tony nominee Glover and clarinetist Dave Bennett; Under the Mistletoe with Ashley Brown, a holiday concert with Mary Poppins alum Brown and Judith Clurman’s Essential Voices USA chorus; A Broadway Love Story, featuring real-life married couple Mazzie (a three-time Tony nominee) and Danieley singing musical theater standards by Stephen Sondheim, Cole Porter, John Kander and more; and Lights, Camera, Action: A Night in Hollywood, the season closer that pays tribute to cinema’s most iconic film composers.
Last year's New York Pops season included performances from Broadway veterans Kelli O'Hara, Aaron Lazar, Norm Lewis, Paulo Szot, Jennifer Laura Thompson, Julia Murney and Seth MacFarlane.
