Smash Survey Results: Fans are Begging for Bombshell to Hit Broadway

The results are in from this week’s Smash Survey, in which we asked Broadway.com readers to pick the fictional Smash musical they’d most like to see come to Broadway for realsies.

Unsurprisingly, the results are overwhelmingly in favor of Bombshell, the show-within-the-show that’s had audiences and critics buzzing for the past year. A solid 53% of readers hope the Marilyn Monroe tuner will make its way to the Great White Way, and rightly so! Bombshell is, after all, the whole reason we fell in love with Smash in the first place. For now, fans can at least enjoy the fictional musical's recently released cast album. 

Right behind Bombshell with 27% of votes is Hit List, the edgy new pop-rock musical that will give Marilyn a run for her money later this season. We have a feeling that once viewers get a real taste of the Spring Awakening-flavored show (with music by Benj Pasek, Justin Paul and Drew Gasparini, to name a few), they’ll be changing their tune—and maybe their vote!
