Hot on the heels of her Oscar red carpet hosting gig and show-closing performance, Kristin Chenoweth's new film Family Weekend will be released on premium VOD on February 28, according to Deadline. In the film Chenoweth plays an ambitious, high-strung business executive who is held hostage by her own daughter. The movie will also hit theaters on March 29.
The Benjamin Epps-directed film, which also stars Matthew Modine as Chenoweth's husband, is about a 16-year-old Emily (Olesya Rulin) who becomes so fed-up with her parents' lack of proper parenting that she decides to take them hostage in their own home. With the help of her siblings (Eddie Hassell and Joey King), Emily and the kids lock up their parents in hopes of bringing them all together again. Family Weekend also stars Oscar-winning musical film star Shirley Jones.
