Two-time Tony winner Patti LuPone will show a group of incredibly fortunate students how it’s done on a new episode of HBO’s Masterclass, premiering April 1. The previously announced episode will feature LuPone teaching and working with a class of students, and includes clips from “The Gypsy in My Soul,” LuPone’s February 1 concert in Madison, WI. The episode will also include footage of LuPone dating back to 2010, while she was starring in Broadway’s Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown. The episode will continue to air on HBO through April 30.
The Emmy-nominated documentary series Masterclass teams up iconic artists with students from across the country. LuPone’s episode will be directed by Karen Goodman and Kirk Simon. Previous Masterclass teachers have included Tony winner Edward Albee, Tony winner Bill T. Jones, Liv Ullmann, Julian Schnabel and Jacques d’Amboise.
