Christopher Luscombe will helm the stage adaptation of Graham Greene's Travels with My Aunt at the Menier Chocolate Factory in London. The production will begin performances on May 2, with an official opening night on May 8. Travels with My Aunt will play a limited engagement through June 29. Casting has not yet been announced.
Adapted for the stage by Giles Havergal, Travels with My Aunt tells the story of retired bank manager Henry Pulling, and his globetrotting adventures with his Aunt Augusta. From Brighton to Istanbul to Paraguay, the unlikely pair journey together discovering colorful characters and the possibilities that life conjures up in the most unusual of places. A 1972 film adaptation of the novel earned Maggie Smith an Oscar nomination.
Travels with My Aunt will feature designs by Colin Falconer, lighting by Oliver Fenwick and sound by Gregory Clarke.
