Broadway alum and Girls star Adam Driver is in negotiations to join Tina Fey and Jason Bateman in the film adaptation of Jonathan Tropper's novel This Is Where I Leave You, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Driver would play Fey and Bateman's younger brother Philip, the rebel of their family.
Directed by Adam Shankman, This Is Where I Leave You centers on family whose recently deceased patriarch has left one dying request for his four grown children: to spend a week together under the same roof for the first time in a decade. Also in the cast are Broadway vets Jane Fonda, Kathryn Hahn and Corey Stoll.
Driver became a TV stand-out with his turn as Hannah's emotionally unstable, oddball boyfriend Adam on HBO's Girls. He also recently appeared in the films Lincoln, Gayby and J. Edgar. On Broadway he appeared opposite Frank Langella in Man and Boy, and served as the Louis replacement in the recent off-Broadway revival of Angels in America. His other stage credits include Look Back in Anger and Mrs. Warren's Profession.
