Oscar and two-time Tony nominee Amy Ryan is the latest funny celeb to join Alejandro Gonzalez Innaritu's Broadway-themed comedy Birdman, according to Deadline.com. Ryan will share the screen with previously announced stars Michael Keaton, Emma Stone, Edward Norton, Naomi Watts and Zach Galifianakis.
Birdman follows a past-his-prime film star (Keaton) best known for playing an iconic superhero. With the help of his fresh out of rehab daughter (Stone), he is now planning a big comeback on Broadway. Ryan will play Keaton’s long-suffering ex-wife.
Ryan earned an Oscar nomination for Gone Baby Gone, and Tony nods for her roles as Stella Kowalski in A Streetcar Named Desire and Sofya Alexandrovna in Uncle Vanya. Her other Broadway credits include The Sisters Rosenweig, The Three Sisters and The Women. Her vast film and TV credits include The Office, The Wire, In Treatment, Changeling and Jack Goes Boating.
