Tony nominee and Pulitzer Prize finalist Sarah Ruhl's play Stage Kiss will have its New York premiere at Playwrights Horizons. Stage Kiss will play next February through March in the off-Broadway theater company's Mainstage Theater. No casting has yet been announced.
Directed by Rebecca Taichman, Stage Kiss is a charming tale about what happens when lovers share a stage kiss—or when actors share a real one. When two actors with a history are thrown together as romantic leads in a forgotten 1930s melodrama, they quickly lose touch with reality as the story onstage follows them offstage.
Ruhl is the Pulitzer Prize finalist whose credits include In the Next Room (or The Vibrator Play), Orlando, Passion Play, The Clean House, Dead Man's Cell Phone, Eurydice and Late: A Cowboy Song.
