Smash ratings sunk to a new low on April 13, its second week in the series' new Saturday timeslot. The Broadway-centric drama was easily topped by the new ABC game show Bet on Your Baby, where parents gamble on their child’s ability to spin in a circle, hold a beach ball and do other simple tasks. Yes. That’s a show.
While 2.36 million viewers watched babies stack Oreos, Smash floundered with only 1.80 million viewers and a 0.4 ratings share, down .08 million viewers from last week’s episode. After a look back at the season’s previous ratings (which weren't great, but they were never this bad), Saturday nights are clearly not a good thing for Karen and Ivy.
Which is a shame, because in this week’s episode, Ivy (Megan Hilty) stripped down for JFK in Bombshell, Ana (Krysta Rodriguez) stole the Hit List spotlight, and a special guest made a frightening (and hilarious) cameo. Oh, you were too busy watching babies knock over blocks? Fair enough.
