Richard Greenberg's The Assembled Parties, starring Tony and Broadway.com Audience Choice Award winner Judith Light and Tony nominees Jessica Hecht and Jeremy Shamos, officially opens on April 17 at Broadway's Samuel J. Friedman Theatre.
Directed by Lynne Meadow, The Assembled Parties revolves around the Bascovs, an Upper West Side Jewish family in 1980. In a large Central Park West apartment, former movie star Julie Bascov (Hecht) and her sister-in-law Faye (Light) bring their families together for a holiday meal. But once a new houseguest wheedles himself into the family drama, the Bascovs’ picture-perfect way of life is thrown into jeopardy.
In addition to Light, Hecht and Shamos, the Manhattan Theatre Club production also stars Mark Blum, Jonathan Walker, Lauren Blumenfeld, Alex Dreier and Jake Silbermann.
The Assembled Parties features scenic design by Santo Loquasto, costume design by Jane Greenwood, lighting design by Peter Kaczorowski and sound design by Obadiah Eaves.
