Release Date Set For Dogfight Cast Recording, Featuring Lindsay Mendez & Derek Klena

Lindsay Mendez, Derek Klena and the cast of Dogfight are coming to an iPod near you! The cast recording of the 2012 Second Stage Theatre production of Dogfight is set for digital release on Ghostlight Records April 30. The album will hit stores on May 21.

Featuring music and lyrics by Benj Pasek and Justin Paul and a book by Peter Duchan, Dogfight tells the story of three young Marines who, before their deployment to Southeast Asia, set out for one final boys’ night of debauchery, partying and maybe a little trouble. But when Corporal Eddie Birdlace (Klena) meets Rose (Mendez), an awkward and idealistic waitress he enlists to win a cruel bet with his fellow recruits, she rewrites the rules of the game and teaches him the power of compassion.

In addition to Klena and Mendez, the Dogfight cast includes Annaleigh Ashford, Becca Ayers, Nick Blaemire, Steven Booth, Dierdre Friel, Adam Halpin, F. Michael Haynie, James Moye and Josh Segarra. Directed by Joe Mantello, Dogfight premiered at off-Broadway's Second Stage Theatre on July 16, 2012 and played through August 19.
