Rattlestick Playwrights Theater announced that because of rave reviews and sold-out performances, the world premiere of Buyer & Cellar, starring Broadway fave Michael Urie, will extend for one week through May 12 at the off-Broadway theater.
The Jonathan Tolin-penned play tells the story of Alex More (Urie), a struggling Los Angeles actor who finds himself taking an odd job working in the Malibu basement of a Hollywood mega-star. When the A-lister makes a rare appearance one day, the comedy launches into an outrageous look at fame and the price that accompanies it.
Directed by Stephen Brackett, Buyer & Cellar features set design by Andrew Boyce, costume design by Jessica Pabst, lighting design by Eric Southern and sound design is by Stowe Nelson. The show biz comedy officially opened on April 3, and was originally set to close on May 4.
