Talk about a reason to be happy! DirectTV has ordered 10 episodes of Full Circle, the new TV drama by Neil LaBute, according to Deadline.com. An acclaimed playwright, LaBute’s next stage project is the upcoming MCC Theater show Reasons to Be Happy, which begins performances at off-Broadway’s Lucille Lortel Theatre on May 16.
The second original drama series for DirectTV, Full Circle focuses on conversations with 11 people, whose lives are intertwined though they don’t know it yet. Production for the low-budget miniseries begins in Los Angeles this summer and episodes begin airing on DirectTV’s Audience this fall. LaBute serves as creator, writer and co-executive producer.
LaBute’s plays include Broadway.com Audience Choice Award winner Reasons to be Pretty, Fat Pig, The New Testament, Some Girl(s) and The Shape of Things. His films work includes Your Friends & Neighbors, Nurse Betty, Possession and Death at a Funeral.
