The short-lived Broadway musical High Fidelity is getting a second life at 54 Below. For two-nights-only, May 19 and 20, original cast members Will Chase and Jenn Colella will join Broadway faves Adam Chanler-Berat, Mario Cantone and Ana Gasteyer for a concert version of the Tom Kitt/Amanda Green musical. High Fidelity In Concert will be directed by Leigh Silverman and feature The Indigo Girls at the May 19 performance.
Featuring music by Tony winner Tom Kitt, lyrics by Amanda Green and a book by Pulitzer Prize winner David Lindsay-Abaire, High Fidelity tells the story of Rob (Chase), a record store owner who is unlucky in love. Based on the popular Nick Hornby novel and subsequent MGM movie, High Fidelity opened at Broadway’s Imperial Theatre on December 7, 2006 and closed 10 days later on December 17. The show’s score was persevered on an original cast recording released through Ghostlight Records.
