David Byrne and Fatboy Slim’s new musical Here Lies Love has announced an additional four-week extension at the Public Theater. Due to popular demand, the Alex Timbers-directed musical will now run through June 30. This is the third extension for the critically acclaimed musical.
Here Lies Love is a wholly immersive theatrical experience that puts audience members front and center into a 360-degree scenic and video environment. Set to the beats of a throbbing dance club score, the show tells the story of Filipina First Lady Imelda Marcos, her meteoric rise to celebrity and subsequent descent into infamy.
The cast features Ruthie Ann Miles, Jose Llana, Conrad Ricamora, Renee Albulario, Melody Butiu, Natalie Cortez, Debralee Daco, Joshua Dela Cruz, Kelvin Moon Loh, Jeigh Madjus, Maria-Christina Oliveras, Trevor Salter and Janelle Velasquez.
The show comes from a concept by Byrne and features choreography by Annie-B Parsons, set design by David Korins, costume design by Clint Ramos, lighting design by Justin Townsend, sound design by M.L. Dogg and Cody Spencer, projection design by Peter Nigrini and additional music by Tom Gandey and J Pardo.
