After working in New York for 11 years, Stephanie J. Block has received her well-deserved first Tony nomination. The Broadway star burst out onto the scene in The Boy From Oz, and since then has appeared in shows ranging from Wicked and The Pirate Queen to Anything Goes. Now she is headed for the Tonys as a Best Actress nominee for her sparkling performance as the title character in The Mystery of Edwin Drood. A mere 24 hours after hearing the big news while she was stuck in traffic on the New Jersey turnpike, Block stepped out for her first Tony event, a press reception for nominees at the Millennium Broadway Hotel. Broadway.com photographer Jenny Anderson and reporter Lindsay Champion tagged along with her to document the day, which included glamming up at home, a red carpet, photos and a video shoot.
