Tony winner James Corden (One Man, Two Guvnors) will star alongside Daniel Mays in Nick Payne’s new play The Same Deep Water As Me at the Donmar Warehouse, according to The Daily Mail. Corden is also in talks to appear in Rob Marshall’s big screen adaptation of Into the Woods.
Little is known about the play The Same Deep Water As Me; it will be directed by John Crawley, but no dates have been set at Donmar and no plot synopsis has been released.
Corden appeared in Marshall’s all-star reading of the Into the Woods screenplay back in 2012. He played the lead role of the Baker, which apparently Johnny Depp is in talks for.
Corden earned a Tony Award for his portrayal of Francis Henshall in One Man, Two Guvnors after originating the role in London. He also appeared in The History Boys on Broadway and in the West End. Corden’s film and TV credits include The Three Musketeers, Gulliver’s Travels, The Gruffalo, Gavin & Stacey and Horne & Corden.
