Tony winner Sutton Foster is officially back in New York, headlining a solo concert at the Cafe Carlyle. The Broadway favorite is slated to play the legendary cabaret venue from September 10 through 28.
Foster returns to the Cafe Carlyle after her popular concert series in June 2010. The evening featured a medley of “Anyone Can Whistle” and “Being Alive,” a thrilling rendition of “Defying Gravity” and songs from her solo album Wish, including “Sunshine on My Shoulders.”
Foster recently starred as Michelle Simms on season one of ABC Family’s Bunheads. She earned Tony Awards for her performances in Anything Goes and Thoroughly Modern Millie. Foster’s additional Broadway credits include The Drowsy Chaperone, Shrek the Musical, Young Frankenstein, Little Women, The Scarlet Pimpernel, Annie, Grease and Les Miserables.
In addition to Foster, the Cafe Carlyle fall/winter lineup includes performances by Clint Holmes from October 1 through 12, Judy Collins from October 15 through 26, Broadway vets John Pizzarelli and Jessica Molaskey from October 29 through November 23 and Steve Tyrell from November 26 through December 31.
