Later this year, Hollywood will release its own big, grand version of August: Osage County, Tracy Letts' critically acclaimed Broadway play that won a bevy of Tonys and the Pulitzer Prize in 2008. This big screen adaptation stars Meryl Streep as pill-popping matriarch Violet Weston and Julia Roberts as her disgruntled daughter Barbara. There's also Ewan McGregor, Benedict Cumberbatch, Chris Cooper, Abigail Breslin, Juliette Lewis, Margo Martindale, Sam Shepard, Dermot Mulroney and more. Directed by John Wells, the story follows the women of the Weston family, whose lives have splintered in many directions until their alcoholic father's disappearance brings them back to their childhood home and to the dysfunctional woman who raised them.
