Cast Complete for The Sound of Music at London's Open Air Theatre

Full casting has been announced for the new production of Rodgers and Hammerstein's The Sound of Music at London's Open Air Theatre, Regent's Park. Directed by Rachel Kavanaugh, the musical will begin performances July 25 and will run through September 7. Opening night is set for August 5.

Charlotte Wakefield (Mamma Mia!) will star as Maria, opposite Michael Xavier (Love Story) as Captain von Trapp. Also in featured roles are Faye Brookes as Liesl, Caroline Keiff as Elsa Schrader, Helen Hobson as Mother Abbess and Joshua Tonks as Rolf.

The ensemble for The Sound of Music includes Kimberley Blake, Helen Colby, Samuel Edwards, Tim Frances, Victoria Hinde, Christopher Hunt, Michael Matus, Harry Morrison, Gemma Page, Laura Pick, Stuart Price, Anna Simmons, Chloe Taylor and Helen Walsh.

The Sound of Music features set & costume design by Peter McKintosh, choreography by Alistair David, musical direction by Stephen Ridley, lighting design by Tim Mitchell and sound design by Nick Lidster.
