Get Your Hands on It! Hands on a Hardbody Cast Album Sets Summer Release Dates

Feel the joy! The original Broadway cast recording of the shuttered 2013 musical Hands on a Hardbody will be available in stores and online on August 27.

Sh-K-Boom Records will produce the album of the show, which was nominated for three Tony Awards including Best Original Score (for co-writers Trey Anastasio and Amanda Green). The album will include the entire Broadway score, as well as a song cut during previews entitled “The Tryers.”

The cast recording will feature Keith Carradine, Allison Case, Hunter Foster, Jay Armstrong Johnson, David Larsen, Jacob Ming-Trent, Kathleen Elizabeth Monteleone, Mary Gordon Murray, Jim Newman, Connie Ray, Jon Rua, Keala Settle, Dale Soules, Scott Wakefield and William Youmans.

Set in a Texas town where the economy has taken its toll on everyone, Hands on a Hardbody tells the inspiring true tale of ten regular Americans competing to win a new truck by keeping their hand on it the longest. The show closed on April 13 after 28 previews and 28 regular performances.
