It's a Miracle! Bertie Carvel, Lauren Ward & the Broadway Cast of Matilda to Perform at 54 Below

Don't want to hear the final school bell ring at Crunchem Hall in Matilda? No problem! Audiences will be able to catch Tony nominees Bertie Carvel, Lauren Ward, Tony winner Gabriel Ebert and the cast of the hit musical at another Broadway hotspot: 54 Below. The magical tuner’s talented cast will perform together in their collective 54 Below debut on July 1.

Adapted from Roald Dahl's classic novel, Matilda is the story of an extraordinary little girl who decides that, despite a bad upbringing filled with rotten parents, a terrifying school and a vicious head mistress, her story is going to be an astonishing one. In addition to Carvel, Ward and Ebert, the cast of Matilda includes Lesli Margherita, Karen Aldridge, Taylor Trensch and four young actresses (Sophia Gennusa, Oona Laurence, Bailey Ryon and Milly Shapiro) sharing the title role. The musical opened at the Shubert Theatre on April 11.

Matilda was the winner of four 2013 Tony Awards, including Best Book of a Musical for Dennis Kelly, Best Performance by an Actor in a Featured Role in a Musical for Ebert, Best Scenic Design of a Musical for Rob Howell and Best Lighting Design of a Musical for Hugh Vanstone.
