Monster Boogie! Children's Rock Musical Wanda's Monster Will Receive a Commercial Off-Broadway Run

The monster is out of the closet! The hit family musical Wanda's Monster will receive a commercial off-Broadway run at The Vineyard's Dimson Theatre, beginning July 13 and running through September 8. The touching story of a spunky 5-year-old girl who believes there's a monster in her closet, the official re-opening night of Wanda's Monster is set for July 21.

Featuring music and lyrics by Kindie rock superstar Laurie Berkner, book by Barbara Zinn Krieger and based on Eileen Spinelli's children's book of the same name, Wanda's Monster is a 50-minute musical about Wanda, a courageous little girl with a grand imagination who, with the help of her cool Granny, befriends the "Monster" living in her closet. Along the way, Wanda learns about friendship and acceptance, turning what could have been a scary experience into an important lesson.

Directed by Adrienne Kapstein, the creative team for Wanda's Monster includes scenic design by Drew Francis, costume design by Leslie Bernstein, lighting design by Ariel Benjamin and sound design by Charles Coes.
