We've got a first look at stars Tony winner Chuck Cooper, Wallace Smith, Jeremy Pope, Nicholas L. Ashe, Kyle Beltran, Grantham Coleman and Austin Pendleton in the powerful new play. Directed by Trip Cullman, Choir Boy centers around Pharus Jonathan Young (Pope), a talented young man who wants nothing more than to take his rightful place as leader of the school's legendary gospel choir. But the Charles R. Drew Prep School for Boys is a world built on rites and rituals, and Pharus must conform to expectations to gain the respect he desperately needs.
