Hallelujah! The Cast of Choir Boy Sings to the Heavens on Opening Night

The cast of the Manhattan Theatre Club’s heartbreaking gospel drama Choir Boy had plenty of reasons to rejoice as they celebrated their big opening night at New York City Center on July 2. Led by Jeremy Pope, Austin Pendleton and Tony winner Chuck Cooper, the show is a gospel-infused play with music that has been filling audience members with soul since it began its run earlier this June. An assembly of stars from the MTC family were on hand to ring in a happy opening night for this new work by Tarell Alvin McCraney.
