Broadway alums Sarah Sokolovic and Libby Winters will join Katie Thompson in Imaginary Friends, a short play by Jeffrey James Keyes. Directed by Terry Berliner, the production will be presented July 24 at the Clurman Theatre on Theatre Row as part of the 38th Annual Samuel French, Inc. Off-Off-Broadway Short Play Festival.
Imaginary Friends tells the story of Sasca (Sokolovic), Leslie (Thompson) and Alice (Winters), who have an intimate discussion about the hauntings of their childhood. After all 30 plays in the festival perform, six finalists will be chosen by the Samuel French editorial staff to receive publication and licensing contracts. The winning plays will receive a special performance on July 28.
Sokolovic has appeared on Broadway in Relatively Speaking and off-Broadway in The Shaggs: Philosophy of the World. Thompson has appeared in Giant, and in the Chicago production of Big Fish. Winters made her Broadway debut in American Idiot and appeared in White Noise at the New York Musical Theatre Festival.
