Disney has released images of the forthcoming animated film Frozen, which means we finally get to see what a few of our favorite Broadway stars will look like in cartoon form. Frozen features Tony winner Idina Menzel as Elsa, Tony nominee Jonathan Groff as Kristoff, Tony nominee Josh Gad as Olaf, Kristen Bell as Anna and Cinderella star Santino Fontana as Hans. Based on Hans Christian Andersen's fairy tale The Snow Queen, Frozen tells the story of Anna, a young woman who goes on a quest to find her sister Elsa, a Snow Queen who has put a cold-weather spell on the kingdom of Arendelle. In order to end the eternal winter, Anna must convince her sister to lift the spell. The much-buzzed-about movie hits theaters this fall—but until then, find out how these Broadway faves measure up to their animated likenesses.
Meet Anna, an optimistic adventurer played by Broadway alum Kristen Bell.
Anna teams up with Kristoff, played by Jonathan Groff…
…And the pair goes on a journey to find Anna’s sister Elsa the Snow Queen, played by Idina Menzel.
On the journey, Anna and Kristoff run into Olaf, a hilarious snowman played by (who else?) Josh Gad.
This next part we’re making up, but we assume the pair eventually catches up with a prince named Hans, played by Broadway’s royal highness, Santino Fontana.
This looks awesome! See the movie in theaters November 27.
