Well, the good news is that two-time Tony winner Sutton Foster finally has time to come back to Broadway. The bad news? TV’s Bunheads, starring Foster as a Las Vegas showgirl who becomes a dance teacher, has been canceled by ABC Family, according to TVLine.com. Written by Amy Sherman-Palladino, Bunheads also starred Tony winner Kelly Bishop, Kaitlyn Jenkins, Julia Goldani Telles, Bailey Buntain and Emma Dumont.
Bunheads premiered on June 11, 2012 on ABC Family. The series tells the story of Michelle Simms, a Las Vegas dancer who longs to be a Broadway star. Her life is turned on its head when she impulsively moves to Paradise, California, and takes a job at her mother-in-law Fanny’s (Bishop) dance studio. Bunheads’ final episode aired on February 25.
