Next to Normal Tony winner Alice Ripley is making her official 54 Below debut with a one-night-only concert event, Ripley Reflects, on August 3. The evening of song will also be recorded for an album to be released in November.
Ripley Reflects will include music from Broadway shows in which Ripley originated a character, as well as her own original songs and a genre-spanning medley of covers.
For her role as bipolar mother Diana Goodman in Next to Normal, Ripley won a Tony Award, Helen Hayes Award and Broadway.com Audience Choice Award for Favorite Leading Actress in a Broadway Musical. She received an additional Tony nomination for creating the role of Violet Hilton in the musical Side Show. Her other Broadway credits include The Rocky Horror Show, James Joyce’s The Dead, The Who’s Tommy, Les Miserables and Sunset Boulevard. With her band Ripley, she has written and produced the albums Everything’s Fine, Ripley EP and Outtasite.
