Casting is complete for the Williamstown Theatre Festival's Broadway-bound production of The Bridges of Madison County, starring Steven Pasquale and Elena Shaddow. Directed by Tony winner Bartlett Sher, Bridges will play the main stage August 1 through 18.
In addition to Pasquale and Shaddow (who replaces originally attached star and expectant mother Kelli O'Hara), the cast of the musical will feature Nick Bailey as Michael, Whitney Bashor as Marian/Chiara, Daniel Jenkins as Bud, Caitlin Kinnunen as Carolyn, Michael X. Martin as Charlie and Cass Morgan as Marge. The production will also include Jennifer Allen, John Paul Almon, Emma Duncan, Laura Shoop and Tim Wright.
Based on Robert James Waller’s 1992 bestselling novel, The Bridges of Madison County features a score by Tony winner Jason Robert Brown and a book by Tony and Pulitzer Prize winner Marsha Norman. The musical tells the story of Robert Kincaid (Pasquale) and his life-changing, four-day love affair with Iowa farm wife Francesca Johnson (Shaddow).
As previously reported, the Broadway production of The Bridges of Madison County will feature four-time Tony nominee O'Hara and Pasquale. The musical is set to begin previews on January 13, 2014, at the Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre. Opening night will be in late February.
