If you’re in New York in March 2014, then you'll want to make a date to see the brand new musical from the creators of Next to Normal! Tony winner Idina Menzel stars in Brian Yorkey and Tom Kitt’s If/Then, which will begin performances on March 4, 2014, at the Richard Rodgers Theatre. Opening night is set for March 27.
Tony winner Menzel stars as Elizabeth, a woman on the verge of turning 40 who moves back to New York City intent on finding a fresh start. But even as she carefully plans her new life, the smallest decision will impact her world in ways she never thought possible. The show is described as “a romantic and original new musical about how choice and chance collide and how we learn to love the fallout.”
Prior to its Broadway run, If/Then will play a world premiere engagement at Washington D.C.’s National Theatre, beginning previews on November 5 and running through December 8.
Three-time Tony nominee Michael Greif (Rent, Next to Normal) will direct the musical, which features music by Kitt and book/lyrics by Yorkey. Additional casting and creative team members will be announced shortly.
