In an eagerly awaited return to the New York stage, two-time Tony winner Sutton Foster is headlining a one-night-only concert presentation of Violet on July 17. Foster plays the title role in Jeanine Tesori and Brian Crawley's 1997 musical about a physically scarred southern white woman who befriends a black solider (Tony nominee Joshua Henry as Flick). Directed by Leigh Silverman, Violet is the second of three shows being presented at New York City Center as part of Encores! Off-Center summer series.
