I wanna Rock! Aaron C. Finley will make his Broadway debut as Drew in Rock of Ages beginning August 9. Finley will succeed Justin Matthew Sargent as the bartender with rock star dreams in the ‘80s jukebox musical. Sargent will play his final performance as Drew on July 28. The role will be covered by understudy Tony LePage during the interim. Rock of Ages is currently playing at Broadway’s Helen Hayes Theatre.
Finley’s regional theater credits include Rent, Jesus Christ Superstar, A Christmas Story, Hairspray, Follies, Enchanted April, The Gypsy King, I Love You Because and Fiddler on the Roof.
Rock of Ages opened on Broadway on April 7, 2009 at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre. Featuring a score of classic rock hits including “Every Rose Has Its Thorn” and “Don’t Stop Believin’,” the musical tells the story of Drew, an aspiring rock star who moves to Los Angeles to make his dreams come true.
In addition to Sargent, Rock of Ages currently stars Kate Rockwell as Sherrie, Joey Calveri as Stacee Jaxx, Genson Blimline as Lonny, Adam Dannheisser as Dennis, Cody Scott Lancaster as Franz, Josephine Rose Roberts as Regina, Paul Schoeffler as Hertz and Teresa Stanley as Justice. The company also includes Tessa Alves, Andrew Call, Tony LePage, Michael Minarik, Jennifer Rias, Cassie Silva, Andre Ward and Neka Zang.
