Broadway.com video blogger Rachelle Rak is going to “cha-cha-puus” over to Lifetime Television as the new judge on Abby’s Ultimate Dance Competition. Rak will appear alongside longtime friend Abby Lee Miller (Dance Moms) and returning judge Richy Jackson. The second season of Abby’s Ultimate Dance Competition premieres on September 3.
Abby’s Ultimate Dance Competition features 11 young dancers, ages six through 13, competing for a $100,000 cash prize and a scholarship to the Young Dancer Program at the Joffrey Ballet School in New York. Rak replaces first season judge Robin Antin, founder of the Pussycat Dolls.
Known as “the Ultimate Broadway Gypsy,” Rak’s 25-year career includes the Broadway productions of Cats, Fosse, Thou Shalt Not, Oklahoma!, The Look of Love, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels and Catch Me If You Can. She recently co-starred in the national tour of Flashdance, for which she hosted the Broadway.com video blog “I Love Rak ‘n’ Roll.” Rak’s regional credits Chicago, Sweet Charity, A Chorus Line, West Side Story and Starlight Express. She appeared on Lifetime’s hit reality show Dance Moms, as well as the Chorus Line documentary Every Little Step.
