If you're like us, you might have forgotten that there is life outside your apartment since you started binge-watching the new Netflix original series Orange Is the New Black. Well, it seems like the people (and puppets) behind the Tony Award-winning musical Avenue Q, currently playing at off-Broadway's New World Stages, are just as obsessed with Jenji Kohan's captivating prison drama about Piper Chapman, an uptight New Yorker who ends up in federal prison serving a 15-month term for carrying drug money. The show follows Piper’s journey in prison, weaving in the lives of her fellow inmates and how they got to where they are. Avenue Q's spoof of the OitNB's poster is a cheeky nod to some of the musical's best assets: quirky characters, learning how to survive the curveballs life throws at you and, of course, indulging in a little "Schadenfreude" once in a while. Check out the photo and don't forget to see Avenue Q and watch OitNB, which stars theater vets Uzo Aduba, Lea DeLaria, Kate Mulgrew and more.
