Tony winner Laura Benanti is once again taking her talents to the cabaret stage, returning to 54 Below for four performances September 19-21. The engagement will promote her new album, In Constant Search of the Right Kind of Attention: Live at 54 Below, which was recorded by Broadway Records in May and will be released digitally on September 6 and on CD on September 10. The show features musical direction and arrangements by Todd Almond.
The Broadway veteran took home her first Tony Award for the role of Gypsy Rose Lee in Gypsy. After making her Broadway debut in The Sound of Music at age 18, Benanti went on to star in Into the Woods, The Wedding Singer, In the Next Room, and Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown. Her television credits include Starved, The Playboy Club and Go On.
