Donna Moore, the woman who created the off-Broadway fan favorite Cougar the Musical, will step into the show August 16, 17, 23 and August 24. Moore will play the role of cougar anthropologist Clarity, while current star Brenda Braxton departs to join Sacramento Music Circus’ Chicago. Cougar the Musical continues through September 29 at the St. Luke’s Theatre.
A writer, performer and stand-up comic, Moore adapted Cougar the Musical out of her three-year-long cabaret act at Don’t Tell Mama. She is currently working on her next new musical, Tag Sale.
Cougar the Musical follows three disillusioned women as they develop a taste for a younger breed of men. As they croon their way through a variety of original songs, the ladies (and one hot, multi-talented boy) learn to say “yes” to getting older, and find out that love is in fact ageless. In addition to Moore, the company features Babs Winn, Mary Mossberg and Andrew Brewer.
