Monologist Mike Daisey is about to embark on a one-of-a-kind theatrical event—and you have 29 chances to experience it! On September 5, Daisey begins performances of All the Faces on the Moon, a new series of monologues telling “the largest story ever attempted in the American theater” (according to press notes) over the course of a lunar month.
Daisey will deliver a new monologue every night in 29 unique, consecutive performances. The project, directed by Jean-Michele Gregory, will run from September 5 through October 3, with an official opening on September 11. For each performance, Daisey will share the stage with one of 29 oil paintings commissioned especially for the show by Russian artist Larissa Tokmakova, each one illustrating the story du jour.
