Demi Lovato Will Play Lea Michele’s New BFF on Season Five of Glee

Watch out Kurt, Rachel is getting a new NYC BFF. Pop singer and X Factor judge Demi Lovato will join season five of Glee, according to TVLine.com.

Lovato will play Dani, a struggling artist friend of Rachel (Lea Michele) and Santana (Naya Rivera). The character will also interact (and sing) with Kurt’s new nemesis played by American Idol’s Adam Lambert. Lovato will appear on at least six episodes in season five, beginning on October 3.

Lovato is known for her work as a young actress on the TV shows Sonny with a Chance, As the Bell RIngs and Barney & Friends, as well as the film Camp Rock. She has released four albums: Don’t Forget, Here We Go Again, Unbroken and Demi. In 2012, she joined Simon Cowell and Britney Spears as a judge on the other popular FOX series The X Factor.
