Four-time Tony Award nominee Danny Burstein and Tony winner Victoria Clark are joining Manhattan Theatre Club's world premiere production of Sharr White's The Snow Geese, starring Tony winner Mary-Louise Parker. Directed by Tony winner Daniel Sullivan, The Snow Geese will begin previews October 1 at the Samuel J. Friedman Theatre, with opening night set for October 24.
Parker stars as Elizabeth Gaesling, a recently widowed, financially ruined mother of two sons who gathers her family in upstate New York at the start of hunting season in 1917. Burstein and Clark will star play Max Hohmann and Clarissa Hohmann. The cast of The Snow Geese will include Christopher Innvar as Theodore Gaesling, Evan Jonigkeit as Duncan Gaesling, Brian Cross as Arnold Gaesling and Jessica Love as Viktorya Gryaznoy.
With World War I raging abroad, The Snow Geese tells the story of Elizabeth, who is forced to confront a new reality as her carefree eldest son comes to terms with his impending deployment overseas and her younger son discovers that the father they all revered left them deeply in debt. Together, the family must let go of the life they’ve always known.
Burstein received Tony nominations for his roles in Golden Boy, Follies, South Pacific and The Drowsy Chaperone. His other Broadway credits include Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown, Saint Joan, The Seagull, Three Men on a Horse, A Little Hotel on the Side, The Flowering Peach, A Class Act, Titanic and Company. Clark earned a Tony Award for her performance in The Light in the Piazza, and received Tony nominations for Cinderella and Sister Act. Her other Broadway credits include Titanic, How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, Urinetown, Cabaret, Guys and Dolls, A Grand Night for Singing and Sunday in the Park With George.
Innvar has appeared on Broadway in Porgy and Bess, The People in the Picture, 110 in the Shade, The Three Penny Opera, Les Miserables and Victor/Victoria. Jonigkeit co-starred with Kathleen Turner in the Broadway premiere of High and appeared off-Broadway in Harrison TX and Really, Really. Cross and Love will make their Broadway debuts in The Snow Geese.
The Snow Geese will feature scenic design by John Lee Beatty, costume design by Jane Greenwood, lighting design by Japhy Weideman, sound design by Dan Moses Schreier and projection design by Rocco DiSanti.
