Broadway on Broadway Outdoor Concert in Times Square Canceled for 2013

The popular free Broadway on Broadway concert will not be held this year. According to The Broadway League's website, "The annual outdoor concert in Times Square, which has in the past taken place on the Sunday after Labor Day, will not take place in 2013. Stay tuned for new updates." No further explanation for the cancellation was offered.

Presented by The Broadway League and The Times Square Alliance, the live show traditionally kicks off the new Broadway season and features musical numbers and appearances from current Broadway shows, plus a sneak peek at upcoming shows that are opening in the new season.

Last year, Scandalous scribe and Today host Kathie Lee Gifford hosted the 20th anniversary Broadway on Broadway concert.
