The stars and creators of the 2003 cult movie musical Camp are reuniting for one night only at 54 Below. On October 4, the Midtown night spot will host a 10th anniversary screening of the film and a pre-show talkback.
Director Todd Graff will be joined onstage by principal players including two-time Tony nominee Robin De Jesus, who played Michael Flores; The Voice contestant and Hair alum Sasha Allen, who played Dee; Joanna Chilcoat, who played Ellen Lucas; Steven Cutts, who played Shaun; Stephen Dimenna, who played Glen; Brittany Pollack, who played Brittany; and pianist Brad Simmons. No word yet if Anna Kendrick, Daniel Letterle, DeQuina Moore, Don Dixon or Alana Allen will join in the fun, or if the gang can expect a surprise visit from Stephen Sondheim.
Camp is set at a musical theater summer camp in upstate New York and is based on Graff’s experiences at Stagedoor Manor. During the course of a summer, the aspiring teen actors at the fictional Camp Ovation learn about theater, love and self-discovery.
