Tony-nominated composer Andrew Lippa is crossing the pond to perform a concert in London for the very first time on November 17. Joined by Broadway and West End performers, the one-night-only event will take place at the St. James Theatre.
The Big Fish composer will take the audience on a journey through his life and career as a writer, featuring music from his hit shows like Big Fish, The Addams Family, The Wild Party, and John and Jen, as well as lesser-known songs and “lost” material. No special guests have been announced yet.
Lippa garnered a Tony nomination for Best Original Score for The Addams Family. He provided additional songs for the 1999 Broadway revival of You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown and wrote original music for The Farnsworth Invention. He composed and starred in the original choral piece I Am Harvey Milk that premiered in San Francisco opposite Laura Benanti in 2013. He has also served as the music director for Kristin Chenoweth’s concerts since 1999. His musical Big Fish, adapted from the book and film of the same name, is currently playing at the Neil Simon Theatre.
